JOB DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER FOR ISLA RESTAURANT (WE SHALL HOSPITALITY)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant General Manager is accountable for overseeing the operations and ensuring the overall success of a newly established 270 seat multi-unit restaurant and cocktail bar in downtown Washington, DC, under the We Shall Hospitality brand. This venue combines exquisite seafood offerings with global influences in an opulent and inviting setting. Our goal is to provide an exceptional dining experience that caters to both celebratory occasions and casual gatherings.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in hospitality management, demonstrating full accountability for guest satisfaction, financial performance, operational compliance, and team development. As a proven leader in the industry, the Assistant General Manager will set the standard for operational excellence and foster a culture of service that enhances the guest experience. This position reports directly to the ownership of We Shall Hospitality.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership & Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of managers and staff to create an environment focused on delivering exceptional guest service and achieving operational goals.
- Guest Experience: Advocate for a guest-centered approach, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience exceeds expectations and fosters repeat business.
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budget management, cost control, and revenue generation, with the objective of meeting or exceeding financial targets.
- Supplier Relations: Maintain and develop strategic relationships with suppliers, ensuring the procurement of high-quality products that align with guest expectations and operational needs.
- Brand Management: Uphold the integrity of the We Shall Hospitality brand by ensuring consistent delivery of service excellence across all touchpoints: ambiance, service quality, culinary offerings, and beverage selections.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including health and safety standards, liquor licensing, labor laws, and human resources policies.
- Performance Analysis: Generate and analyze performance reports to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Marketing Initiatives: Lead local marketing efforts to drive traffic and engagement, utilizing a comprehensive understanding of community dynamics and customer behavior.
- Inventory Oversight: Manage food and beverage inventory processes, implementing best practices to reduce waste and prevent losses.
- Industry Expertise: Maintain a strong understanding of spirits and cocktail trends, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve the menu offerings.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage cutting-edge technology and industry-standard software to streamline operations and enhance the overall guest experience.
