The Facility Services Division is seeking seasonal Aquatic Maintenance Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting in the daily maintenance and cleaning of aquatic facilities, including swimming pools, splash pads, wading pools, fountains, and surrounding public areas. This position supports certified aquatic technicians in the operation, inspection, and basic upkeep of pumps, filtration equipment, mechanical systems, and chemical feed systems.The role involves performing routine water quality tests (e.g., chlorine, pH, alkalinity) and reporting all readings to supervisory staff in accordance with municipal and state public health standards. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Maintain dependable attendance and adhere to assigned work schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and seasonal shifts as required.Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting equipment, carrying supplies, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.Operate vehicles, tools, and equipment safely and responsibly, following all departmental rules and procedures.Demonstrate commitment to public service, teamwork, safety, and high-quality maintenance of community and aquatic facilities.Provide courteous assistance to residents and staff while performing maintenance duties in public areas.Work closely with aquatic supervisors, lifeguards, recreation staff, Parks & Recreation teams to ensure smooth operations.Participate in required training, including safety programs, CPR/first aid (if required), and equipment operation certifications.Maintain accurate logs, checklists, and documentation as required by policy and state health regulations.
