Duties
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of food and drink options to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast POS, ensuring all special requests are noted and fulfilled
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items to increase sales and promote specials or new offerings using openTable or other reservation systems when applicable
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, and food safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and staff
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing and resetting for the next guests, maintaining a tidy dining area throughout service
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders, utilizing culinary experience to understand food preparation processes when needed
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience or food service background preferred, especially in fine dining or nightlife environments such as nightclubs
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and cashiering procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic approach to guest relations
- Ability to manage multiple tables efficiently through effective time management and organization skills
- Experience with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Familiarity with reservation platforms like OpenTable for guest seating management
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and sales upselling strategies
- Prior host/hostess or serving experience is a plus; culinary or kitchen experience is beneficial for understanding food preparation processes
