Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ice Cream Cake & Pie Specialist to join our team at Sarah’s Handmade. This role focuses on the creation and decoration of our signature ice cream cakes and pies, which are handcrafted with love and artistic precision. Ideal candidates will have prior professional cake decorating experience, with strong piping and finishing skills. This is a key role on our team, perfect for someone who takes pride in both the flavor and appearance of their creations. This role can be part time, or full time weekly hours.
Position Details:
As an Ice Cream Cake & Pie Specialist, your primary responsibility is producing, assembling, and decorating a variety of cakes and pies using our house-made ice cream and scratch-made ingredients. You will also assist with prepping cake components (e.g., baking, layering, mixing pipings), restocking other ice cream products, and maintaining organization and cleanliness in the cake production area. For increased hours, there is also an opportunity to combine this role with a Production Assistant position.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent piping and cake decorating skills—this is a must
- Can work with both frozen and baked components confidently
- Maintains consistency, precision, and speed under pressure
- Brings creativity, problem-solving, and a strong work ethic to the team
Though this is a specialized role, you may also support general kitchen prep, team collaboration, and seasonal menu development as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and decorate custom and signature ice cream cakes and pies with a high level of detail
- Execute intricate piping, clean writing, and finishing touches to match our brand’s aesthetic
- Prepare cake and pie components including bases, crusts, mix-ins, and frostings
- Maintain strict cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
- Assist with production planning to fulfill custom orders, wholesale orders, and in-store inventory needs
- Package and label finished products accurately and attractively
Qualifications:
- Must have prior experience decorating cakes and pies in a professional setting
- Exceptional piping, writing, and finishing skills - Required
- Experience working with frozen desserts or ice cream (preferred, but not required)
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
