We are seeking a dependable Food Service Assistant to support meal preparation, kitchen operations, and sanitation in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The Food Service Assistant ensures food, supplies, and equipment are properly stored, prepared, and available for daily meal service. This role assists with food preparation and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across all kitchen, cafeteria, and storage areas.
This position may also supervise Job Corps Work-Based Learning students assigned to the department.

Assist with preparation of food for daily meals

Wash, peel, and prepare fruits and vegetables as needed

Transfer food, supplies, and equipment between storage areas, kitchen, and cafeteria

Set up and break down tables and chairs for meal service

Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, pots, and pans

Clean, sanitize, and maintain kitchen, cafeteria, and food storage areas

Clean refrigerators, ovens, stoves, and other kitchen equipment

Sweep, mop, wax, and strip floors as needed

Clean and properly store trash containers

Degrease and sanitize vents, screens, and filters

Ensure food, supplies, and equipment are properly stocked and stored

Provide support for Work-Based Learning students when assigned

Deliver excellent customer service at all times

Maintain attendance, productivity, and accountability standards

Organize and prioritize tasks to meet daily operational needs

High school diploma or equivalent required

Degree or certification from an accredited or relevant training program preferred

Previous experience in a food service operation preferred

Ability to obtain local Food Handling/Health Certification required

Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, and crouch as needed

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds

Must be able to assess lifting requirements and request assistance when necessary
