Urban Wood Milling is a small sawmill that recovers urban hardwood logs from across Northen Virginia and then processes them into commercial lumber and pallet products. We are looking for a dependable individual who wants to learn sawmill operation, equipment operation, and proper lumber grading and handling practices.
No sawmill experience required. We are willing to train the right person. This is a hands on position in a small production sawmill that is growing. You will gain experience in log processing, skidsteer operation, sawmill production, lumber grading, and inventory managment.
Job Duties
- Sort, stack, and handle hardwood lumber
- Operate the edger and assist with sawmill operations
- Loader operation
- Maintain a consistant flow of material throughout the day
- Learn to identify lumber grades and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working enviroment

Pay & Advancement
Starting pay is $18.00/hr.
Employees who become productive operators are eligible for wage increases and production-based bonuses. Opportunities exist to advance into equiptment operation and higher-responsibility production roles. We are building a long term team and are looking for someone interested in developing valuable skills and growing with the company.
