Position Overview

Herrington on the Bay is seeking an experienced hospitality leader to oversee the execution of luxury weddings and special events. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for banquet operations, front-of-house service, beverage operations, staffing, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Event Coordinator team and Front of House staff.
- Foster a culture of hospitality, accountability, and teamwork through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
Event Operations
- Lead all event-day operations from setup through breakdown.
- Ensure weddings and special events are executed according to timelines and client expectations.
- Conduct venue inspections, oversee logistics, and resolve operational challenges in real time.
- Partner with Event Coordinators to ensure seamless transitions throughout the event.
Beverage Operations
- Oversee beverage inventory, ordering, vendor relationships, and cost controls.
- Ensure bars are properly stocked, compliant, and event-ready.
- Provide hands-on support during high-volume events when needed.
Hospitality & Guest Experience
- Serve as the senior operational leader during events.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences by maintaining service standards and resolving client and guest concerns promptly
Operational Leadership
- Collaborate with Culinary, Facilities, Sales, and Planning teams to support successful event execution.
- Assist with staffing, labor management, operational improvements, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure each event is appropriately staffed by managing day-of staffing adjustments, call-outs, and operational coverage.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in hospitality, banquet operations, catering, restaurants, hotels, or event venues. (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving and Leadership skills to liaise confidently with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Experience in banquet, catering, or event operations with a strong understanding of hospitality and guest service standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and event management software such as Caterease
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours during peak event seasons.
- Ability to legally serve alcohol in the state of Maryland
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
