Job Summary
We are seeking a Network Operations Center (NOC) / Incident Manager to join a 24x7x365 Network Operations Center supporting critical network and communication systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network monitoring, incident management, Cisco troubleshooting, and TCP/IP networking.
This position will monitor network systems, troubleshoot incidents, coordinate resolution efforts, and escalate complex issues when necessary. The selected candidate will also receive cross-training across Transport, DataLink, and Applications NOC functions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network management systems and identify network/system incidents.
- Troubleshoot network and system issues and determine appropriate resolutions.
- Troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and network circuits.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance.
- Track incidents and maintain accurate information in incident management systems.
- Coordinate with telecom providers to support service restoration.
- Diagnose and resolve routine technical issues for customers and business units.
- Escalate moderate and complex technical issues to senior team members.
- Monitor high-availability IP networks, messaging systems, and air-to-ground communication systems.
- Follow established incident management, deployment, configuration, and maintenance procedures.
- Provide technical guidance to customers when resolving issues.
- Manage multiple incidents and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Work collaboratively with senior NOC team members.
- Participate in training across Transport, DataLink, and Applications functions.
- Work scheduled overnight shifts, including occasional weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship required
- High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR Associate degree/2-year post-high-school training with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
- Network+ Certification required
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols
- Experience troubleshooting Cisco devices
- Knowledge of BGP and HSRP routing protocols
- Understanding of ITIL/ITSM concepts and practices
- NOC, network operations, network support, or incident management experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple incidents
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work a fixed 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM EST shift
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA Certification
- Experience with ServiceNow
- Experience with Remedy
- Experience with Netcool
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365
- Experience working in a 24x7 Network Operations Center
Pay: $31.00 - $32.00 per hour
