Duties

Assist in preparing and serving meals according to menu plans, ensuring timely delivery to residents.
Follow food safety standards and proper handling procedures to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
Support culinary staff with food preparation tasks, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
Help with meal plating and presentation to enhance the dining experience for residents.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and food service equipment in compliance with safety standards.
Support dietary department operations by organizing supplies, labeling food items, and assisting with inventory management.
Provide friendly and respectful food service to residents, catering to special dietary requirements when needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in dietary services or food industry settings is preferred.
Experience as a dietary aide or in a restaurant or kitchen environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and meal service techniques.
Familiarity with safety standards in food production and handling practices.
Strong knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient food prep.
Understanding of food safety management principles to prevent contamination or spoilage.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards resident care and service excellence.
