Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business/Management or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Completion of high school/GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial facilities maintenance and/or
construction/trade industries.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Proven experience in project management and budgeting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Description:
➢ The Rockville United Methodist Church (“RUMC”) is seeking a full-time Facilities Manager, to be shared with the Faith United Methodist Church (FUMC”). The historic RUMC church campus is in downtown Rockville, while FUMC is located close by, 3.3 miles away on Rockville’s Montrose Avenue.
➢ The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the maintenance, repair, upkeep and safety of both facilities. The Facilities Manager will oversee all aspects of facilities management, ensuring the facilities are safe, efficient, and well-maintained.
➢ The Facilities Manager will develop and maintain separate maintenance plans for each church based on their respective needs.
➢ Meeting regularly with the trustee chair (RUMC) and leadership board chair (FUMC) (the “Trustee Chairs”) to prioritize efforts responsive to the needs of each church, allocating time approximately 50:50 over the course of each month, but responding to urgent needs of one church or the other on a daily or weekly basis.
➢ Job Responsibilities include:
▪ Overseeing the maintenance and repair of all facilities, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment;
▪ Manage and maintain all facilities, equipment and systems.
▪ Direct management of facilities staff and contractors.
▪ Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facilities equipment.
▪ Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track and manage maintenance and repair activities.
▪ Manage and coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs and maintenance.
▪ Develop and manage budgets for facilities maintenance and repair projects.
▪ Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and health regulations and standards.
▪ Provide technical support and training to facilities staff.
▪ Perform other duties as required to ensure the effective management of facilities.
This is a full-time 40-hour a week position.
