This entry-level Cook position will be based primarily in our pastry area and requires good communication and basic culinary skills. The desired candidate will have some professional cooking experience, knowledge of cooking ingredients, and procedures. We are looking for someone to work primarily between 4:00am and 1:00pm with the flexibility to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare all food and baked items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set
- Ensure all ingredients are in stock and communicate ordering needs
- Understand and complete requisition sheets
- Demonstrate a high level of cleanliness in workstation and appearance
- Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers/freezers, and storage areas
- Watch for and identify spoilage in product
- Keep accurate temperature records
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
The hourly rate for this position is $19.88, increasing to $22.31 after six months.
