We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bartender to join our team in a high-volume Irish Pub located on the Wharf in Washington, DC. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their overall experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in accordance with health regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of bar areas during shifts.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow throughout shifts.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately; perform basic math calculations for bills, tips, and change, and ensure proper cashiering procedures.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of current food and beverage menus.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bartender in fast-paced environments such as high-volume restaurants or fine dining establishments.
- Strong knowledge of point-of-sale systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage diverse clientele warmly and professionally.
- Proficiency in food safety practices, food handling, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently through effective time management skills.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and sales calculations.
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to alcohol service; food safety and/or alcohol service certifications preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or special event shifts as required.
