Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Director to lead our culinary team and manage all aspects of food service operations. The ideal candidate will manage food service productions and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in our kitchens and work very hard to deliver outstanding resident satisfaction. This role requires effective leadership, strategic planning, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Duties
- Oversee daily food service operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting the dietary needs of our clientele.
- Manage budgeting processes, including cost control measures to optimize profitability.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills.
- Conduct interviews and hire new staff members as needed to maintain a high-performing team.
- Collaborate with vendors to source quality ingredients at competitive prices.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage ordering processes to ensure the availability of necessary supplies.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and employee engagement.
Requirements
- Formal training (college degree preferred) in Culinary Arts or related fields
- Certified as a Dietary Manager
- Must be certified by the Maryland State approved sanitation program
- Must have at least two (2) years of food service management experience in the health care industry
- Previous supervisory skills and proven ability to lead and manage individuals
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Strong culinary skills with the ability to create innovative menus.
- Excellent shift management capabilities to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training staff members effectively.
- Knowledge of budgeting principles and financial management within a food service context.
- Exceptional supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, vendors, and guests.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of hospitality and customer service.

Pay: $29.95 - $40.86 per hour
