Cleans floors, carpets, and walls in designated areas. Uses carpet cleaning equipment to shampoo and vacuum carpets. Uses electrically powered sweeping equipment to clean and polish hard surfaced floors. Uses wall washing equipment in conjunction with lifting equipment and scaffolding to clean walls. Uses polishing, burnishing, and grinding equipment to restore damaged floor and wall surfaces.
Readies assigned work areas for maintenance. Relocates furniture and other movable items to free floor and wall surfaces.
Restores surfaces and finishes of flooring and walls subject to wear and tear. Receives general instructions from the supervisor on required floor and carpet care duties and performs assigned responsibilities without supervision.
Cleans carpets using shampooing techniques and chemicals appropriate to the type and amount of soil or discoloration. Restores carpets damaged by water and other fluids or substances using appropriate methods based on the nature of the substance.
Notices details of equipment in work areas that are not functioning as intended and are in need of adjustment or maintenance, e.g., nonfunctioning lamps, lighting fixtures or outlets, worn or marred flooring. Notifies supervisor of findings.
Monitors assigned work areas for spillage and incidental scrapes and blemishes. Performs maintenance on such areas as soon as possible to reduce possibility of lasting damage.
Places and sets up ladders and scaffolds and uses lifting devices to clean and maintain wall and ceiling surfaces.
Operates electrically powered cleaning equipment and uses hand tools and cleaning and polishing materials. Chooses proper equipment based on flooring type. Maintains equipment in good working order by performing preventive maintenance. Cleans, adjusts, and replaces brushes, rollers, and buffing pads as needed. Checks and replenishes battery fluid levels in portable machines as needed.
Tour of Duty: Sunday night thru Friday morning | 10:00pm to 6:30am
Participates in Institution of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IIRC) or equivalent training to be certified to perform work in accordance with industry standards.
The candidate is responsible for utilizing a thorough knowledge of and compliance with applicable AOC and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner and to initiate or take corrective action on unsafe conditions in managed areas. Provides or receives training, either on the job or through classroom training, to ensure that required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is utilized.
