We are a quickly growing high-end bakery, concentrating on making the best pies and quiches in the DMV, selling at 4 local farmers' markets. Our problem is that we cannot make enough product, so we need help! We will train you to do everything! Dough making, forming dough for pies and quiches, fruit and vegetable prep,, using professional kitchen equipment, and cleaning (everyone cleans). Kitchen experience or food safety certifications would be great but are not necessary. More important is willingness to do a variety of tasks, dependability, energy, and at least a little bit of strength. Don't fail to apply if you are a young person with little or no work experience, as long as you are at least 16 years old with a drivers' license and have reliable transportation. This could be a great job for an energetic recent high school grad or even for a current high school student looking to get a resume started. We will work with your schedule and offer very flexible start times and days. A good example schedule would be Tuesday through Friday, 10-3. You would work more or fewer hours based on business levels. While this is a part-time job, we could offer lots of hours during our busy season, which is really starting in the next few weeks and continuing throughout the summer. We would cut hours during the off season. We would start you at $16.00 per hour, but would move you up with experience or if you took more responsibility. For example, if you were able to run a market on a weekend morning, even on a fill in basis, that would bean example of taking more responsibility. Showing up when scheduled is a must, so we are looking for someone who lives pretty close by and who has a reliable method of transportation. Don't apply if you live in D.C. or Maryland or would otherwise be commuting from a distance; that would not be a good fit for this job.
