Troon is seeking a System Technician to join our family in our Reston office. The Systems Technician is the first response to any and all company related IT support needs that encompass a wide range of IT hardware and software solutions. Our Tier 1 Helpdesk staff captures general information regarding the concern, need or issue and either resolves the concern or advises and escalates the ticket as deemed necessary.

Compensation: $47,000-$54,000. In-office position.

Qualifications, Experience and Skill Requirements:

Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment
Ability to work with ticketing systems to document all support calls
Familiar with Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Suites
Flexibility with schedule as this position does require shift work
Associates degree with an emphasis of computer information systems

Position Responsibilities:

Perform ticket-based solutions for an in-house service desk
Respond to requests for technical assistance via telephone or remote connectivity software
Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
Advise user on appropriate action – escalates to appropriate resources
Logs all helpdesk activities through our ticketing system

Ideal Competencies (Preferred but not required)

Associate degree in Information Technology or 1-year related field.
A+, Linux+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate accreditation is advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with ticketing systems and documentation procedures
Good interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail.
Good problem-solving skills.
