POSITION SUMMARY:

The EHR Specialist, under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, has responsibility for ongoing end-user support, maintenance, training, and customization of the electronic health records, patient portal, and inventory software of CCI Health Services.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

EHR – EMR application administration and configuration eClinicalWorks (eCW).
Delivery of patient care using the eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic health record (EHR) system.
Develops and maintains EHR, patient portal, and inventory documentation, and system-related workflow processes.
Develops communication tools to educate on workflow improvements.
Develops and presents initial and ongoing skill development training with clinical and support staff in support of high-level performance.
Collaborate with vendors to train and support staff.
Track training and assess user experience.
Maintains and monitors system reports and audits.
Implementation of system upgrades, improved functionality, training, and standardized workflows as approved. Including, planning and managing installations and/or updates and/or upgrades of the eCW (EHR-EMR) system.
Provide input to the Change Control Committee and other teams as needed
Participate in software testing.
Participate in “off-hours”, weekend, and on-call support on a rotation basis.
Ability to travel between proximate primary and satellite client sites, as needed (car necessary).
Working on-site is an essential duty for the job.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Three to Five years of experience in healthcare information technology. Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree in healthcare information management or healthcare informatics preferred.
Experience with healthcare operational workflow.
Experience with training and implementation of EHRs.
Proficient end-user relationship management skills.
Ability to problem-solve hardware and software issues, and design forms and reports.
Familiar with ICD and CPT coding.
Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and solve complex problems.
Possess meticulous attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
