Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable full time Porter to join our team. The Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for residents, guests and staff. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Take direction from the Head Porter, Associate or Assistant Manager and General Manager to complete specific tasks as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness of the building and grounds, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, stairwells, amenities, garages, outdoor spaces, etc.
- Maintain trash rooms, pulling trash in both buildings, removing recycling material, preparing dumpsters for pulling, and restocking trash rooms with bags. Daily checking and removing trash around building.
- Vacuum all floors in our North and South buildings, leaf and snow removal, and perform other routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping and dusting.
- Ensure that cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing duties.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of events or meetings as needed.
- Be available to take direction from the Front Desk Concierge, Maintenance Supervisor and Techs, Associate Manager, Assistant Manager or General Manager in the event of an emergency.
- Any personal calls during working hours should be limited and brief.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Work 40 hours a week.
- Weekend and holiday work. Busier during move in season (May-September). Flexibility to work other shifts, if necessary.
- Good oral communication required; must be able to speak English.
- Previous experience in a custodial role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
