Position Summary
Servers are ambassadors of our hospitality and cuisine, delivering a polished, knowledgeable, and personalized dining experience. This role requires a service professional who is passionate about food and beverage, attentive to detail, and committed to exceeding guest expectations in an elevated, chef-driven environment.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Service Excellence
- Provide warm, professional, and attentive service throughout the guest experience
- Guide guests through the menu with confidence, including detailed descriptions of dishes, ingredients, and preparation methods
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests or concerns
- Maintain a calm, polished demeanor during busy service periods
Food, Beverage & Culinary Knowledge
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Modern American cuisine, seasonal ingredients, and chef-driven concepts
- Accurately describe specials, tasting menus, and daily features
- Possess working knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails; make thoughtful pairing recommendations
- Communicate guest preferences, allergies, and dietary restrictions clearly to the kitchen
Service Execution & Standards
- Execute service steps according to restaurant standards, timing courses appropriately
- Accurately enter orders into POS system and manage tables efficiently
- Ensure proper table maintenance, including clearing, resetting, and pre-bussing
- Present checks, process payments accurately, and thank guests sincerely
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Collaborate with hosts, bartenders, food runners, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
- Support teammates during peak service periods
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold restaurant standards at all times
- Attend pre-shift meetings and ongoing training sessions
Cleanliness, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and work areas
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Comply with responsible alcohol service policies and local regulations
Qualifications
- Previous serving experience in upscale casual or fine dining preferred
- Strong interest in food, wine, and hospitality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Virginia food handler and alcohol service certifications (or ability to obtain)

Pay: $2.32 - $5.00 per hour
