Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Part Time Cashier to join our team. In this vital role, you will deliver friendly service, handle transactions efficiently, and ensure our store remains welcoming and organized. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive shopping environment for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for checkout transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Assist with product demos and upselling to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays effectively
- Conduct basic retail math to ensure accurate cash register balancing at shift end
- Support inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and inventory counts
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or answering inquiries
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills and bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for retail transactions and cash balancing
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Supervising experience is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn and grow within the team
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, including merchandising, stocking, and product demos
