Overview
Evergreen Disposal is seeking a professional, dependable, and safety-focused CDL Driver to join our growing team. This position is responsible for operating refuse and recycling collection vehicles on assigned residential and limited commercial routes throughout Southern Maryland.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, safety-minded, and able to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Drivers must be comfortable operating Automatic Rear Loader (ARL) and/or Automatic Side Loader (ASL) trucks in active residential neighborhoods.

Duties & Responsibilities (Include But Are Not Limited To):
- Safely operate commercial refuse and recycling vehicles, including Automatic Rear Loaders and Automatic Side Loaders
- Collect trash and recyclables from residential and commercial service locations along assigned routes
- Work alongside a laborer/helper when assigned, ensuring efficient and safe collection
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies
- Maintain accurate route, vehicle, and inspection documentation
- Navigate residential neighborhoods safely while remaining alert to pedestrians, children, and traffic
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and supervisors regarding route conditions, delays, or service issues
- Assist with maintaining route efficiency and cleanliness of equipment
Skills
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL (required)
- Ability to operate or willingness to learn Automatic Rear Loader and/or Automatic Side Loader trucks
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with DOT and company regulations
- Prior CDL driving experience preferred (waste/recycling experience a plus, but not required)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physical ability to enter and exit the vehicle repeatedly throughout the day
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Good communication skills and a professional, customer-friendly attitude

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $260.00 - $330.00 per day
