Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Catering Event Chef to join our team on a part-time, temporary basis. This role involves preparing and executing high-quality food service for catered events at offsite locations. Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, professional in appearance and demeanor, and experienced in event-based cooking and service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present menu items for offsite catered events
- Execute event menus efficiently and to company standards
- Coordinate with event staff to ensure smooth service and timing
- Maintain food quality, safety, and sanitation standards at all times
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, and kitchen organization as needed
- Represent the company professionally at client-facing events
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a chef, cook, or catering/event culinary professional
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to offsite event locations
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and varying event schedules
Preferred (but not required):
- Culinary training or degree
- Experience with high-volume or upscale events
- ServSafe or equivalent certification
