Job Overview
The Behavioral Aide provides direct support and supervision to children and adolescents participating in our behavioral health programs. This position involves working with a diverse group of youth (15-25 per day) to implement behavioral interventions, assist with daily activities, and foster a safe and supportive environment. The Behavioral Aide will work collaboratively with therapists, case managers, and other team members to promote positive behavioral change and improve the overall well-being of the children we serve.
Duties
**Direct Client Support:**
* Provide direct supervision and support to children and adolescents in a group setting, maintaining a safe and positive environment.
* Implement behavior management plans and interventions as directed by therapists and program staff.
* Assist children in practicing and applying behavioral skills, such as coping strategies, conflict resolution, and social skills.
* Monitor and document client behavior, providing accurate and timely feedback to the treatment team.
* Provide homework and educational assistance
* Assist students with their lunch.
* Assist with program activities, such as group sessions, recreational activities, and outings.
* Prepare and organize materials for program activities.
* Assist with meal preparation and snack distribution.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of program areas.
* Communicate effectively with therapists, case managers, and other staff regarding client progress, concerns, and behavior.
* Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
* Maintain confidentiality of client information.
- **Safety and Compliance:**
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the program.
* Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, including those related to safety, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
* Report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff member immediately.
* Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, education) preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with large groups of children and adolescents with behavioral health issues (e.g., ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma).
- Demonstrated knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies.
- Ability to implement behavioral intervention plans effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children and adolescents.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass background checks and drug screening.
**Schedule:**
- Monday - Friday, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
