Please note: The salary range above represents this position’s earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
If filled at the Therapist I, Grade 23, the hiring range is $76,742 - $100,549.
If filled at the Therapist II, Grade 24, the hiring range is $80,070 - $118,970.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Behavioral Health and Crisis Services is currently recruiting a professional, empathetic Full-Time Therapist for our Adult Behavioral Health Program. We are looking for someone who is committed to community mental health and inspired to serve individuals with limited access to mental health services, cultural humility and high-quality clinical care.
This position may be underfilled as a Therapist I (Download PDF reader), Grade 23. Once the employee is at full performance and meets the minimum requirements of the Proficiency Advancement process, they are eligible for the non-competitive promotion to the Therapist II (Download PDF reader), Grade 24.
A full-time therapist in this program is expected to:

Maintain a minimum caseload of 45-50 clients seen in the office
-
Provide 2 evening hours after 5 p.m. per/week on Monday or Wednesday, work 5 days per week, M-F
-
Maintain a 60% rate of direct service sessions with clients, includes minimum of 25 clinical face to face hours per week in addition to case management.

Maintain records according to documentation standards.

Complete clinical documentation within 72 hours of encounter with clients.

Meet HIPPA, Confidentiality and State Regulations

Complete intake assessment upon assignment of case
-
Complete client centered treatment plans with SMART goals

Participate in team meetings by presenting clinical cases, seeking and offering feedback from team members

Participate in supervision with Supervisory Therapist to keep supervisor informed of client and caseload status. Maintain licensure and seek ongoing CEU and training for the development of skills
A criminal background check will be conducted on the selected candidate prior to appointment and will be a significant factor in the hiring decision.

If the candidate selected for this position possesses multilingual skills, they will be required to successfully pass an examination assessing oral communication, reading comprehension, and interpreting skills. For Advanced proficiency, the candidate must also pass an examination requiring translating text from Spanish or Vietnamese to English and vice versa.

Experience: None
License Requirement: One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held prior to appointment, and maintained by, the employee:

Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW).

Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC); or
-
Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT).
Note: There will be no substitutions for this requirement.
If Filled at Therapist II Level:
Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience rendering therapeutic counseling, social work, nursing or psychology services, as pertinent to one’s professional licensing.
License Requirement: One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held prior to appointment of, and maintained by, the employee:

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC);

Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapy (LCMFT);
-
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC);
-
Licensed Certified Social Worker/Clinical (LCSW-C);

Licensed Registered Nurse in the United States, certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland; or Licensed Psychologist

Both Levels:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in clinical or counselling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related Behavioral science field.
Equivalency: None
Medical Protocol: This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment medical evaluation, which includes a physical examination and drug screening.
