Vaughan Cheese Counter & Bar is a source for delicious provisions to locals and guests of North Beach by offering artisan cheese cut to order with accompaniments; sandwiches, salads, and snacks; and a carefully paired selection of wine and beer. As an integral part of the Vaughan Cheese team, Servers are the front-line representation of our brand and a valued member of our family.

Job Responsibilities:

- Serves and interacts with all guests and other team members in a positive, enthusiastic, and friendly manner

- Maintains exceptional food and beverage knowledge to enable informative guest suggestions and explanations

- Prepares the dining room for service as per training guidelines

- Maintains sanitation and safety standards for food handling, alcohol service, and surface cleanliness

- Transmits orders via the POS to the bar, cheese counter, and kitchen by accurately recording guests’ choices, making note of dietary restrictions and special requests - Maintain communication with the kitchen and managers noting timing of meal progression

- Serves orders from the kitchen, cheese counter, and bar as needed making note of table and seat numbers

- Assists with cleaning and restocking service wares including plates, bowls, glasses, silverware, etc during service to ensure that the restaurant never runs short during service

- Respond to additional guests requests as needed and involve managers whenever any aspect of service deviates from the standard

- Maintain table setting and tabletop cleanliness during meals and throughout service - Efficiently and correctly processes payment of the bill

- Perform additional tasks as assigned by managing members of the team or needs of coworkers

Qualification & Skill Requirements

- Strong English written & verbal communication skills

- Strong organizational skills - General math skills

- Accuracy & efficiency in executing tasks as per the service guidelines with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail

- Strong ability to work well in a team

- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills

- Follows directions & instructions

- Organized & self-motivated

- Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, lift, and carry 40lbs and cumbersome items
