Loudoun Medical Group (LMG), one of the largest and most diverse physician-owned, multi-specialty group practices in Northern Virginia, has exciting employment opportunity for an experienced medical assistant to support a busy orthopedic medicine practice in Leesburg, VA.

General Medical Assistant responsibilities include:

Brings patients back to exam rooms and prepares patients for physician by obtaining accurate medical history, vital signs, and other necessary clinical information
Performs triage through appropriate communication and documentation
Performs phlebotomy and other lab procedures and prepares specimens to send out to reference labs in accordance with laboratory guidelines and insurance plan requirements
Reports lab results back to patients. Works with physicians to ensure timely receipt and reporting of results
Assists physician with discharge instructions and necessary patient follow-up and education. Includes calling in prescriptions into pharmacies when necessary
Assists in management of patient records electronically
Prepares rooms for procedures – ensures proper functioning of medical equipment and maintains adequate stock of supplies
Ensure exam rooms are cleaned between patients and at the end of the day.
Works with front office staff when clinical information is required to coordinate insurance referrals and authorizations
Provides support to front office staff when requested
Works with Office Manager and/or physician(s) to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures in accordance with internal and external regulations and guidelines
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations

General Medical Receptionist responsibilities include:

Greeting patients in a friendly manner as they arrive at the office
Scheduling appointments
Enter and updating of patient medical records
Answering the phones and sending messages through the office electronic medical record
Contacting insurance companies regarding issues with medical claims
Sending out patient invoices and other patient correspondence
Collecting co-pays and other patient payments
Scheduling appointments
Checking benefits for office procedures
Keeping the reception area clean and organized

Job Requirements:

High School Degree or equivalent
2 years of medical assistant experience
Must possess exceptional customer service skills
Must have strong clinical skills
Must be able to work independently and on a team
Must have problem solving skills
EMR experience preferred (Pulse and/or ECW)
Experience with inventory/stocking medical supplies
Professional demeanor
Bi-lingual not required but a plus
