Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team at The Oaks Waterfront Hotel. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong understanding of kitchen operations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring high food quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
Station Management: Manage a specific section of the kitchen, such as grill, sauté, or pantry, ensuring all food items are prepared timely and accurately.
Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining kitchen inventory, including checking stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including sanitizing workstations, equipment, and utensils according to health and safety regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.
Quality Control: Monitor and ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation standards are consistently met.
Training: Assist in training junior kitchen staff and new hires, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Problem-Solving: Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively, communicating with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a line cook or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant.
Skills: Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices. Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Attention to Detail: High standards for food quality, presentation, and consistency.
Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Communication: Strong verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions:
Schedule: Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in a high-temperature environment.
Uniform: Compliance with restaurant uniform and grooming standards.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
