Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Residential Counselor to join our compassionate team committed to supporting individuals in a residential setting. This role involves providing comprehensive care and guidance to residents, fostering a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for social work, and experience working with children or vulnerable populations. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in promoting residents' well-being, independence, and personal development through active mentoring and supportive engagement.

Responsibilities of the Residential Counselor

● Oversee physical care of residents

● Development of acceptable habits and attitudes for residents

● Management of resident behavior

● Assist in meeting the goals and objectives of any resident service plan

● Responsible for the coordinated supervision of the residents

● Continuous awareness and ability to give a report of each resident

● Maintain structure and regulations at all times

● Completely and accurately document any required forms

● Perform waive testing on residents after home visits, runaways, and as needed with

complete accuracy and compliance

● Attend all training mandated and continuously pursue training opportunities to meet

standards

● Other duties as assigned by the CEO, Director of Program Services, and Director of Residential

● Ability to work on the weekends

Qualifications of the Residential Counselor

● High School Diploma and six months experience working with children

● Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services OR actively pursuing the degree

● Knowledge and understanding of the organization’s mission and values

● Ability to support constructive resident-family visitation and resident involvement in

community activities

● Ability to provide services in a culturally and linguistically competent manner

● Possess the temperament to work with and care for children, and youth, some with

special needs in multiple age ranges

● Ability to accurately collect, review, and analyze waive testing of residents after home

visits, runaways, and as needed

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
