Job Summary
Emergent Carriers LLC is seeking experienced, professional Non-CDL drivers to operate our 26-foot box trucks in over-the-road (OTR) freight service. This is a road-based trucking position running freight across multiple states under an established carrier, not a local delivery route. You'll run multi-day trips with strong, consistent freight, non-forced dispatch, and weekly settlements. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 26-foot box truck over the road, following all DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and traffic laws
- Run multi-day OTR trips delivering freight across assigned lanes and regions
- Load, secure, and verify shipments to prevent damage; ensure proper weight distribution using liftgate and pallet jack as needed
- Accurately maintain electronic logs (ELD), delivery documentation, bills of lading, and proofs of delivery
- Plan routes efficiently and communicate promptly on load status, delays, or issues
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs immediately
- Represent the company professionally with shippers, receivers, and brokers
Requirements
- Valid regular Non-CDL (Class C) driver's license with a clean driving record
- Recent, verifiable commercial or box-truck driving experience (roughly six months of recent OTR or commercial driving that a prior employer can confirm)
- Current DOT medical card, or ability to obtain one
- Familiarity with ELD devices and hours-of-service regulations
- Comfort with over-the-road driving and multi-day trips
- Strong reliability, professionalism, and communication
- Experience with liftgate and pallet jack a plus
