At Fraiche DC our bartenders are responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers, ensuring a positive experience by interacting with guests in a friendly and professional manner, cultivating regulars, while maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to all safety and sanitation standards; this role requires a thorough knowledge of drink recipes, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately. Key Responsibilities:
Drink Preparation:
- Accurately mix and prepare cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes.
- Garnish drinks with appropriate garnishes.
- Stay updated on current drink trends and new cocktail creations.
Customer Service:
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, offering menus and informing them of specials.
- Take drink orders accurately and efficiently.
- Provide personalized recommendations based on customer preferences.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and attentive manner, ensuring their satisfaction.
Bar Operations:
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, utensils, and working surfaces.
- Stock bar inventory, ensuring adequate supplies of all necessary ingredients.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, reporting any discrepancies to management.
- Follow proper cash handling procedures, accurately processing payments and balancing cash receipts.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all liquor laws and regulations regarding age verification and responsible serving.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following sanitation guidelines and proper cleaning procedures.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to management immediately.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience as a bartender in a restaurant setting (min. 2 years)
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact positively with diverse clientele.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication skills to take orders and address customer needs.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry trays, and reach for items on shelves.
- Math Skills: Accurate cash handling and ability to calculate tips.
- License/Certification: Valid ABCA license or ability to obtain one as required by local regulations.
