About the Role:
We’re seeking a reliable, energetic, and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a hybrid support role that blends facilities upkeep with student and classroom assistance. This person will play a vital role in keeping our learning environment clean, safe, and welcoming—while also helping staff and children during the afternoon hours.
Please note: All listed responsibilities are daily duties and must be completed consistently to maintain the health, safety, and smooth operation of our school.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys working in a school setting, is comfortable with light childcare tasks, and takes pride in maintaining a tidy, organized space.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities & Cleaning Duties (to be done daily unless otherwise noted):
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect classrooms and common areas
- Wipe down tables, chairs, walls, and high-touch surfaces
- Clean bathrooms, windows, and other fixtures as needed
- Dust blinds and window ledges
- Take out trash from classrooms and common spaces
- Maintain cleanliness of playground entryways and indoor/outdoor walkways
- Clean out microwaves and refrigerators at least twice per week
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and communicate inventory needs to administration
- Report hazards, broken equipment, or unsafe items such as sharp edges, damaged furniture, or malfunctioning appliances that may need repair or replacement
- Ensure windows are closed, water is turned off, lights and HVAC systems are off, and all doors are locked at the end of the day
- Use school-provided cleaning supplies and equipment safely and effectively
Classroom & Program Support (to be done daily):
- Assist with our aftercare program, including supervision during recess
- Help children with handwashing, bathroom use, and transitions
- Assist with meal prep, snack set-up, and clean-up
- Make classroom copies and assist with organizing materials
- Accompany staff and children on occasional field trips
- Support staff with light administrative or classroom-related tasks
Qualifications & Ideal Candidate Traits:
- Punctual, dependable, and ready to work independently without constant direction
- Able to manage physical tasks such as cleaning, light lifting, and being on your feet
- Experience in cleaning, school settings, or childcare is a plus
- Comfortable working around young children and supporting their routines
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check
