Job Description:
This position is responsible for overseeing workflows in the Medication Access Services department and supervision of medication access associates and support personnel. Works closely with other supervisors to ensure the goals and policies of the department are in congruence with Essentia Health. Will work with clinic departments and other departments within ambulatory pharmacy to create and maintain best practices, performance standards, and quality improvement and safety initiatives. The Supervisor will work closely, and operate in tandem, with pharmacists in the department and other pharmacy leaders to ensure coordinated support of pharmacy programs and services. Will report to the Pharmacy Operations Senior Manager – Medication Access Services to work together to optimize department performance goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise non-licensed employees in a remote, virtual setting by creating an environment where people feel engaged and inspired, monitoring productivity to assure appropriate and efficient use of resources, actively recruiting workforce, setting expectations, providing feedback and coaching on an ongoing basis, and orienting and training new staff
Manage the ongoing, day-to-day activities of the department operations; this includes but is not limited to coordinating the daily schedule, monitoring workload to facilitate an even work distribution, and maximizing operational efficiencies
Work with Pharmacy Leadership to continuously improve work processes to serve patients and meet department goals
Function as a staff Medication Access Associate team member

Required Qualifications:
2-year experience as a Medication Access Associate or 1-year experience in a leadership role in a health system
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong communication and time-management skills, positive attitude, and ability to mentor and coach for continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years’ experience as a pharmacy technician, medical assistant, claims representative in a managed care role or in a coding role
Licensed/Certified in field of experience (CPhT, CMA, etc.)
Associate degree or higher preferred
