The University Club of Washington, D.C. is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a part-time bartender. As a Bartender at the Founder's Pub within The University Club of Washington, DC, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional beverage service experience to our esteemed members and their guests. Your role will involve expertly crafting and serving a diverse array of cocktails, beers, and wines, ensuring that each drink meets our high standards of quality and presentation. The bartender will create a welcoming and professional atmosphere by engaging with patrons, addressing their beverage preferences, and offering knowledgeable recommendations. In addition to bartending duties, you may also assist with limited food service to enhance the overall guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Preparing the Pub for service, i.e. stock bar, ice, mixers, garnish and have updated copies of menus.
· Prepare all beverages (alcohol & non-alcoholic)
· Provides service to members/guests in a professional manner
· Provides bar service in food and beverage outlets and be a team player during busy times.
· Prepare ordering requisitions for beer, wine, liquor and soft drinks to be submitted to the Purchasing Manager daily.
· Mix and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, and wine, in line with club recipes and high standards.
· Provide expert recommendations and interact with members/guests to enhance their beverage experience.
· Greet and engage with members and guests in a professional and friendly manner.
· Address and resolve any requests or concerns efficiently to ensure a pleasant experience.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring proper stocking and inventory control.
· Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety procedures if applicable.
· Work effectively with other staff members to ensure smooth bar operations and support team efforts.
· Works and setup/prep the Pub for the AM/PM shift (which includes stocking, polishing glass and cleanliness of the Pub).
· Ensure adherence to all legal requirements for the serving of alcohol, including verifying the age of patrons and monitoring for signs of intoxication.
· Assist in training new bartenders as needed and contribute to a positive work environment as needed.
· All other duties as assigned by management.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
· Proven experience of 2-3 years as a bartender with a comprehensive knowledge of mixology and beverage service.
· Maintain a valid ABRA (Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration) license for Washington, DC, as required.
· Must possess a valid ABRA (Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration) license for Washington, DC.
· Certification in responsible alcohol service is preferred.
