Report To: Clinical Director

Hours: Full-Time (Exempt)

Salary: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00

REQUIREMENTS

Masters or Doctoral Degree in Social Work or Psychology and licensed or license-eligible in the state of Maryland. 2+ years experience with clients with severe and persistent mental illness preferred. Experience with residential, partial hospitalization/partial program, or inpatient behavioral health also preferred. Excellent writing, administrative, and communication skills necessary. Psychologists will have assessment/testing skills and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Therapist will work under the supervision of the Clinical Director to provide therapeutic and assessment services for adults living with severe and persistent mental illness. They will provide individual and group therapy and family meetings as necessary. They also act as the primary team member for treatment planning and case disposition. The Clinical Director will oversee and supervise the quality of the clinical program. The Therapist will maintain clinical progress notes consistent with all regulatory and program requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Therapist will be responsible for the following:

Direct Client Service

1. Conduct individual and group psychotherapy for residents.

2. Provide family psycho-education and facilitate/coordinate family support as needed.

3. Follow established protocols and best practice guidelines for clinical work.

4. Participate in the development and implementation of individual treatment plans for each resident in collaboration with other members of the clinical team.

5. Participate in meetings as scheduled to foster collaborative treatment planning and implementation.

6. Support stabilization of symptoms and provide case management for coordination of care and smooth transition surrounding alternative programming and hospitalization as needed.

7. Promote acceptance for residents and families surrounding mental illness and substance abuse.

8. Enhance resident and family understanding of crucial psychosocial components as they relate to mental illness and substance abuse.

9. Promote balance for residents by shifting the focus from crisis stabilization to recovery and participation in the larger community.

10. Establish and maintain clinical records (electronic and hardcopy) adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.

11. Provide case management and disposition planning to address long-term client needs.

12. Develop and deliver trainings to support evidence-based treatment delivery.

13. Provide consultations, behavior support plans, and recommendations to address individualized treatment needs and generalization of skill development within residences.

14. **Psychologists will administer psychological evaluations and create written reports for referrals from the clinical team.

15. **Expressive Therapists will provide specialized group and individual therapeutic experiences including, but not limited to, art therapy, psychodrama, dance and movement therapy, and/or music therapy in accordance with the Therapist’s training and expertise.
