Summary of the Role:
BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer (FSE) to join our client’s site in the Alexandria, Virginia area. This role will support the installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and qualification of water purification systems. The Field Service Engineer will also be responsible for providing backup support to neighboring territories as required.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and qualification of water purification systems.
- Provide professional service on a timely basis, including:
- Preventative maintenance completed in the month due
- Installations completed within two weeks once the site is ready
- Repairs performed as requested by the customer
- System validations and qualifications as required
- Response times ranging from 24 hours onsite up to 2 weeks
- Respect all customer on-site rules and regulations, including good housekeeping practices.
- Accurate and detailed completion of Work Orders and related documentation.
- Close Work Orders daily.
- Provide customers with appropriate documentation of work completed (Service Reports, Meter Verification Reports, Routine Maintenance documentation, etc.).
- Maintain an accurate daily schedule for internal visibility and customer communication.
- Notify Manager when schedule impacts customer satisfaction or completion timelines.
- Maintain physical consignment inventory in accordance with SOP and value limits.
- Maintain tools and test equipment in proper working order and calibration.
- Generate leads for new hardware, consumables, accessories, and service contracts using the CRM tool.
- Maintain timely, courteous, effective, and professional communication with customers and internal/external stakeholders.
- Respond to emergencies, including a 2-hour callback window and up to 24-hour onsite response time.
- Adhere to NA Fleet Vehicle Policy.
- Assist with custom engineered system installations with support from Supervisor, Manager, and/or Custom Systems Team.
- Submit expense reports every two weeks.
- Meet customer site requirements, including vendor credentialing, background checks, and immunizations as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED with 3+ years of field service experience and/or skilled trade experience
- Experience in Water Purification Systems is heavily required
- Minimum 1 year of field service experience and/or experience in other applicable skilled trades
- Proficient with tools and test equipment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle difficult customers and situations
- Basic IT skills (computer use, software uploads, iPad/iPhone usage)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 165 lbs. with assistance
- Clean driving record for rental vehicle
