CIVIC. is a coffee + cocktail salon on Capitol Hill. We’ve built the bar—now we’re looking for the right person to help us build a consistent, standout AM cocktail program.
Your lane is cocktail creation and bar team organization. In this role, you get to create and build alongside our Owner/General Manager. It’s a plus if you have coffee experience and education. This person must love teamwork and creativity.
We’re currently operating as a daytime bar and will expand hours as revenue grows.
This is not a Beverage Director role. Wine/beer and distributor relationships are handled internally for now. Your focus is cocktails, execution, and team standards.
Hours (current)
- Tuesday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
Pay
- $20–$25/hour + tips (based on experience)
What you’ll own
- Cocktail builds and seasonal features that work for daytime service
- Recipe specs + batching + prep systems (labeled, dated, consistent)
- Bar team organization: station setup, mise en place, flow, readiness
- Training and service standards so drinks taste the same every time
- Opening/closing routines and clean, professional bar operations
- Cocktail inventory needs (spirits/liqueurs/mixers/garnishes/syrups) and weekly ordering requests
You’re a fit if you…
- Have 3+ years bartending experience (lead/training experience preferred)
- Can execute classics fast and accurately
- Can create a few signatures that are service-friendly (not 9-step science projects)
- Are organized (checklists, pars, batching, labeling)
- Hold standards without ego or drama
- Barista experience/education is a plus (we’re coffee-first during the day and cross-support matters)
