We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team.
Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the general upkeep, maintenance, and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds. This position supports the safe and efficient operation of company facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks and assisting higher-level technicians as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, assembling furniture, and replacing air filters.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify and report maintenance needs.
- Assist with minor plumbing, carpentry, and painting projects under supervision.
- Support preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC systems, lighting, and safety equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace; ensure tools and materials are properly stored.
- Assist with groundskeeping, including trash removal, snow removal, and basic landscaping.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Support setup and breakdown of workspaces, events, or company functions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0–2 years of experience in a facilities, janitorial, or general maintenance role.
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical work for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if travel between sites is required).
Preferred:
- Trade school coursework or certifications in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical work.
Working Conditions
- Primarily on-site in a commercial, industrial, or office setting.
- Exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
- May involve occasional evening or weekend work, and on-call duty rotations.
