We are seeking a motivated, personable, and energetic Bartender to join our dynamic front-of-house team. Duties
- Craft and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including handcrafted cocktails, beer, and wine, using precise pouring and recipe standards.
- Assist with bar prep tasks, such as prepping fresh garnishes, preparing house-made syrups, stocking ice, and setting up service well.
- Engage warmly with guests, explain beverage and food menu offerings, make personalized recommendations, and process orders accurately on our POS system.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar counter, service wells, glassware, and back-bar display throughout the shift.
- Strictly enforce Virginia ABC laws and responsible alcohol service standards by verifying guest identification (age 21+) and managing guest intake responsibly.
- Support busy shifts, patio service, and special events by maintaining fast, consistent ticket times and collaborating effectively with floor servers and kitchen staff.
- Manage opening and closing duties, including balancing cash drawers, restocking inventory, washing glassware, and breaking down bar stations safely.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old in accordance with Virginia ABC licensing regulations for mixing and serving spirits.
- Prior experience as a bartender or beverage server in a fast-paced restaurant or cocktail bar is preferred; an enthusiasm for hospitality is essential. Familiarity with South, Central Asian, or regional flavor profiles and beverage pairings is a plus!
- Basic mixology skills with a solid understanding of beverage preparation techniques, spirit categories, and classic cocktail recipes.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices, health department sanitation protocols, and local liquor laws (VA ABC / RSVP certification is a plus).
- Experience operating restaurant POS systems (such as Toast POS) efficiently during peak hours.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with guests and collaborate seamlessly with the team.
- Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
