Job Summary:
The Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service and hospitality to guests at Swahili Village, a high-end African cuisine restaurant. This role requires a strong understanding of the menu, attentiveness to guest needs, and a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment. The Server will ensure guests experience high-quality dining through efficient, accurate, and friendly service that reflects Swahili Village’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Engagement:
Welcome guests with warmth, provide menu recommendations and ensure a memorable dining experience from start to finish.
Order Accuracy & Processing:
Accurately record guest orders, input them into the POS system, and communicate efficiently with kitchen and bar staff for timely delivery.
Product Knowledge:
Develop in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary accommodations.
Presentation & Quality Standards:
Ensure all dishes are served to Swahili Village’s presentation standards, confirming taste, appearance, and accuracy.
Cleanliness & Setup:
Maintain a clean and organized section, prepare tables with appropriate settings, and assist in the overall upkeep of the dining area.
Collaborative Team Support:
Work closely with kitchen, bar, and fellow front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of orders.
Payment Processing:
Handle guest payments, issue receipts, and accurately manage cash and credit transactions.
Qualifications:
Experience:
A minimum of 1-2 years as a server in an upscale or fine-dining restaurant is preferred.
Skills:
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and multitasking ability in a high-paced environment.

Certifications:
Alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS or SafeServe) is preferred.
