Bartender – Proper Bar
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, service-focused Bartender to join our upscale dining team. The ideal candidate is polished, knowledgeable, and passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences. This role requires advanced cocktail preparation skills, strong wine and spirits knowledge, and the ability to provide refined, attentive service.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft classic and contemporary cocktails with precision, consistency, and premium presentation.
- Provide warm, elevated hospitality while engaging with guests at the bar and in the dining room.
- Maintain expert knowledge of the bar menu, seasonal cocktails, wine list, and premium spirits.
- Recommend pairings and guide guests through drink selections in an approachable, educated manner.
- Uphold all service standards, cleanliness guidelines, and health and safety regulations.
- Manage bar inventory, restocking, and daily setup/breakdown with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with the culinary and service teams to ensure seamless service flow.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently in Toast POS.
- Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Support special events, private dining, and tasting-focused experiences as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years bartending experience in a fine-dining or upscale environment.
- Extensive knowledge of mixology, wine regions, and high-end spirits.
- Strong communication and guest-service skills with a gracious, professional presence.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
- Familiarity with classic cocktail recipes, bar tools, and advanced techniques (e.g., infusions, garnishes, stirred/spirit-forward cocktails).
- Valid food handler and alcohol service certifications (where required).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
