Experienced Server for Historic Restaurant and Inn in Middleburg, Virginia

Our culinary team is dedicated to sourcing and preparing fresh ingredients from Virginia's Piedmont region and bountiful South. From intimate four course dinners in The Tavern to hand crafted cocktails and burgers in The Night Fox Pub, each culinary experience is paired with a unique atmosphere.
Wage Range
$2.13 + tips ($700-$900 Weekly)
Uniform
- Black pants, black non-slip shoes, company-supplied apron and shirt
- Neatly groomed hair, conservative makeup, minimal jewelry (no necklaces or bracelets ), no nail polish or artificial nails, no visible tattoos
Server Duties
- Maintain knowledge of RFI&T Policies and Service Standards
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of complete menus and beverages on hand
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the Tavern
- Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to manager on duty
- Complete, set up, and break down dining areas as directed
- Wash, sterilize, polish, and stock cutlery, china and glassware
- Ensure cutlery, china and glassware is polished to standards before setting on tables
- Greet assigned tables and inform guests of specials and menu changes
- Answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
- Sell food and beverage selections to guests, up-sell accordingly, enter orders accurately in the point-of-sale system
- Responsible for assembling and preparing all non-alcoholic beverages
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
- Sell, present, open, and pour wine according to service standards
- Monitor and observe guests in the dining room to ensure proactive service standards are being met
- Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
- Responsible for stocking, removing, and resetting dishes and silverware between courses and cleaning and resetting vacated tables according to presentation standards
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers and bartenders as situations arise
- Be ready and willing to assist busser with clearing and resetting tables
- Assist with the restocking and replenishment of supplies
- Ensure all side duties are fully completed at the start and end of each shift as outlined
- Turn in paperwork to be completed by the manager on duty
Minimum Requirements:
- Be 21 years of age
- Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes--advanced knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor a plus
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
- Excellent guest relations, communications skills and pleasant personality
- One to two years’ experience in an upscale restaurant with high volume
- Must be able to work independently and have an energetic personality
- Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
