Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Bookkeeper & Admin Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their accounting skills in a supportive environment while contributing to the financial health of our organization. The successful candidate will assist with various bookkeeping tasks, administrative duties, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero.
Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Support payroll processing and maintain payroll records accurately.
Analyze accounts and prepare account analysis reports as needed.
Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, and managing correspondence.
Collaborate with team members on various projects related to corporate, non-profit, or governmental accounting.

Qualifications

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero is preferred - please list experience with your application.
Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and bank reconciliation.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry (10 key typing).
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and clients.
A basic understanding of tax experience is beneficial but not required.
